Our programme features a fantastic array of shows to suit all tastes. You’ll find dramas, comedies, musicals, stand-up comedy, live music gigs, conferences and events.
Yes, both the theatre and bar at Websters have wheelchair access. Entry to the bar is by the side door. The side door is accessed by a ramped lane to the right-hand side of the building (as seen from Great Western Road, when facing the front door). Once inside the building, access to the theatre is all on one level.
For customers with limited mobility, the wheelchair-accessible route is the easiest way to enter the theatre. It is also possible to enter via the main door into the theatre, but there is a small set of external stairs.
Currently access to the first floor Playhouse has stairs only. Websters is currently seeking funding to ensure that the first floor is fully accessible and inclusive in near future.
The Playhouse is a flexible venue and hireable space capable of holding 60 people including staff and performers. It is only accessible by stairs and has a small pop-up bar in the room. This unique space with its fine arched ceiling is ideal for small performances, community use and private hire including weddings.
If you are interested in booking this space, please see our Venue Hire page.
Websters bars are open for regular customers as well as serving as crush bars for theatre audiences.
In addition there are pop-up bars available at different locations within the building which can serve as function bars when when rooms are used for private events.
No, Websters Bistro is currently closed while repairs to the steeple are undertaken.
The Box Office is only manned when there is a performance in the venue. The box office opens at least 1 hour prior to every performance.
Phone messages and emails to the Box Office are checked regularly and we do our best to respond as soon as we can.
Websters main theatre has a capacity of 240 seats. Rows A-F are on floor level and are suitable for wheelchair users.
Our standard policy is to offer concessions to OAPs, Carers, Under 16s, Students and the Unwaged. Individual productions may choose to restrict concessions to specific categories, or may choose to offer additional concessions, for instance to Equity Card holders. Any details of changes to the standard policy will be shown on the info pages for individual shows.
Children under 16s are usually included in the concession ticket price. If a particular show is offering a different price for children, this will be noted on the page for that show.
Cottiers and Websters Theatres are independent theatres and do not receive funding subsidies to offer the programme of shows available. As a non-funded venue we have to add a ticket admin charge to tickets to go towards our running costs – these include things like staffing the box office, printers, ticket paper, phone lines, box office software etc.
No, unfortunately the ticket admin fee applies to all tickets, including tickets purchased in person at the venue. The fee is purely to cover staffing costs and other running costs – without it, we couldn’t afford to have a member of staff at the box office to take your order.
Our Box Office is only manned when there is a performance in the venue, so most of the time, there won’t be anyone at Cottiers or Websters who can print off tickets for you. For Box Office Collection tickets, please wait until the day of the performance and pop in 1 hour or so before the show starts to collect your tickets.
Phone messages and emails to the Box Office are checked regularly and we do our best to respond as soon as we can.
Unfortunately, there are no refunds available unless the show has a waiting list for return tickets.
