The Stopwatch Gang are back … with new originals and covers … and a banjo !
The Stopwatch Gang are a three piece band fascinated by feel and atmosphere of old time music, the storytelling of great folk and country songwriters.
They write songs with minimal percussion and sparse instrumentation, songs inspired by love, death and whisky, with rogues and outlaws, with working folks dealing with hardship, with decisions and consequences.
Driven by acoustic guitar and foot percussion, fleshed out with bass and electric guitar, the stopwatch gang trace a line from the weary romanticism of Townes van Zant to the defiance of Uncle Tupelo and the imagery of Grant Lee Buffalo, through to the drunken tales of the Richmond Fontaine and the emotive clarity of Jason Isbell.
We love telling stories, the way we grew up hearing them, in songs that lift the atmosphere in a room and make an audience really engage with us.
We play music to drink to, and we love what we do.
We hope we’ll see you down the road.
Sadie Marie is an original solo Country/Blues/Folk artist hailing from the outskirts of Glasgow. Loving music for as
long as she can remember, Sadie has been writing her own material from the age of 12. Her distinctive sound
and beautiful voice crosses the styles of Fleet Foxes, First Aid Kit and Emmylou Harris.
Whilst studying for a degree in music at the accomplished University of the West of Scotland, Sadie is hoping to craft her career through raw talent, hard work and determination. Sadie and her amazing band played to a packed Mono in Glasgow in May 2018 for the release of her debut single ‘Lonely Lover’ (Released on Hijacked Records) before jetting off to Canada for a solo tour. 2018 looks set to be the breakthrough year for Sadie with festival appearances and more gigs planned throughout the year.
